Local man arrested for bank robbery

Montréal, were all arrested as a result of a joint investigation led by Det-Insp. Paul Yelle of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch in partnership with le Sûreté du Québec, the Laval police service and municipal police departments in Ottawa, Sault Ste. Marie, Waterloo, and Sudbury. The investigation focused on four armed robberies in Ontario last year, targeting Toronto-Dominion banks in Sault Ste. Ma- rie, Cambridge, Sudbury, and Ottawa. Aubé faces charges relating to three of the four robberies, which occurred between March and September 2013. He has several counts of armed robbery, using a disguise or mask while committing a crime, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, mischief un- der $5000 value, possession of a firearm without a licence, pointing a firearm, using a firearm to commit an indictable offence, possession of stolen property exceeding $5000 value, along with single counts of possession of an explosive substance or device and robbery or assault with intent to steal. Loyer, Bélanger and Pierre were charged with similar offenses. The three Québec men are in custody re- lated to proceedings that began in Québec. Aubé remains in custody following a March 20 bail hearing at the Ottawa provincial courthouse. His next court date is March 27.
