The study employs a descriptive methodology and focuses on Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya satellite channels as research cases. The findings show that, overall, Al Jazeera scores a high percentage of superiority over Al Arabiya. This is due to its commitment to professional standards in dealing with Arab political affairs and its adherence to its intellectual references. The findings also indicate that the coverage of Arab political issues in both channels was affected by political directives and foreign pressure groups. However, the way Al Jazeera handled Arab political issues contributed a great deal to the formation of an informed Arab opinion. It has also achieved a great success in gaining the satisfaction of the Arab public thanks to the level of freedom it enjoys and the balance between different opinions and viewpoints that characterizes its coverage. Al Jazeera also favors its viewers’ interests and responds to the influence of public opinion, while, for the opposite reasons, Al Arabiya did not record high in gaining the satisfaction of Arab publics.
