It seeks to identify the most prominent topics in the coverage of the two channels and highlight the news frames used to cover the Kingdom’s issues, as well as showing the impact of the channels’ ownership and editorial policies on the quality of news coverage. The analysis examined a sample of news content, including news bulletins and programs that dealt with Bahrain. The field study involved 1000 citizens, who were randomly selected from the entire Kingdom. Among the key issues that were analyzed: Bahrain’s position on the diplomatic crisis with Qatar, the Kingdom’s role in promoting international peace and its role in the Arab coalition in Yemen, the parliamentary elections, political participation of Bahraini women, and human rights in Bahrain. The findings showed that Al Jazeera uses a predefined approach in presenting Bahrain’s issues, while Al Arabiya does not adhere to a specific approach.
