The Israel-Palestine conflict is one among many such international conflicts that has attracted substantial academic research for decades at different levels. Several scholars have conducted studies of this conflict and analyzed the way in which it has been framed in different media outlets all around the world. This study contributes and adds to the existing research about media coverage of the Israel-Palestine conflict by focusing on the media coverage of Al Jazeera English channel as a case study. The research aims at investigating whether Al Jazeera English presented a different narrative from a non-Western perspective on the conflict, especially during the 2008-09 Israeli war on the Gaza Strip. The study used content analysis methodology to examine Al Jazeera English’s news coverage of the Gaza crisis and then compared it to that of CNN. The research findings showed that there are indeed differences in the way the two news networks framed the 2008-2009 Israeli war on Gaza. Al Jazeera English did report the conflict from a non-Western angle.
