Every media has a mission and a vision, but the attainment of mission and vision depends on credibility since credibility is the Unique Selling Point (USP) of any media organization. This study examines the credibility of Al Jazeera English (AJE) news in Bangladesh. This study was conducted based a survey that was distributed among the residents of Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. 71 respondents who watch AJE have filled up a questionnaire individually. They were asked to rate the channel’s credibility in Bangladesh based on its truthfulness, accuracy, dependency, in-depthness, trustworthiness, expertise, reliability and dependency. Research findings suggest that the credibility of AJE was intermediate and there were significant differences in credibility perception compared to BBC, CNN and local channels. For local news, they rely on local channels and for international news, they rely mainly on BBC, but the reliability on AJE is increasing day by day. As AJE was available in Bangladesh just since 2006 and the viewership of AJE is still very low in Bangladesh.
