The study used a number of methodological tools to collect and analyze data, including the survey, the questionnaire, the observation, and the interviews. The findings showed that a large proportion of the sample watch Al Jazeera satellite channel constantly and this indicates that the channel has succeeded in attracting public opinion to follow its programs. The results also indicated that Arab satellite channels contributed, to some extent, to the formation of public opinion and to the creation of political awareness among Arab societies. The role of Al Jazeera, in particular, was effective in developing political knowledge and spreading information among the public, which enabled it to form political opinions and positions. The research recommends that Arab channels contribute more effective in increasing political awareness and consolidating the peoples’ right to freedom of opinion and expression. It also recommends the necessity of paying attention to improving the performance of Arab media to rely more on field live coverage.
