It focuses on the role played by Al Jazeera in shaping Qatar’s international relations. The study used case studies and evidence based analysis of Al Jazeera’s coverage of events as well as facts derived from Qatar’s diplomacy. The first chapter examines the theoretical dimensions of visual action and reviews its effects and techniques. The second deals with the relationship between the State of Qatar and Al Jazeera. The third analyses a case study of Al Jazeera’s coverage of Palestinian issues over a period of three months. The fourth investigates the connections between Al Jazeera’s media discourse and Qatar’s political discourse. The study refers to Doha’s mediation in the Palestinian issue and Al Jazeera’s coverage Lebanon in light of the Qatari-Saudi-Syrian rapprochement. The findings showed that the policy of Al Jazeera is structurally compatible with the foreign policy of Qatar, and demonstrates that the channel’s diplomacy generally moves in synergy with the state’s diplomacy.
