It seeks to understand the effects of this reliance on the formation of elites’ opinions and political tendencies. The study used the survey method on a selected sample of 210 Jordanian elites equally distributed among politicians, members of trade unions and academics, whereby 70 questionnaires were distributed to each category. The study revealed that 52.9% of the respondents are exposed to Al Jazeera’s talk shows. While the results confirmed that the degree of dependence of respondents on these programs was relatively fair, they showed that their trust in these programmes was high. The results also revealed that the most important reasons for the Jordanian elites’ dependence on talk shows are their desire to follow the developments of the Iraqi file, then the political developments of the Palestinian cause, followed learning about the future of American relations with Islamic movements in the Arab region. The most prominent effects resulting from this dependence were cognitive, emotional and behavioral.
