It aims to identify the nature of news coverage of the two website in terms of topics, geographical areas, news sources, and the techniques used by journalists. The researcher chose Jazeera and Al Arabiya websites because they belong to the field of modern electronic media and they are among the most popular Arabic- speaking websites. The research sample includes all news items posted from 1 May to 1 August 2014, because in this period the political crisis in Iraq escalated. The results showed that, in the category of political issues, the Al Jazeera focused on the theme of “the rejection of political parties to form a government headed by Maliki”, while Al Arabiya focused on the theme of “the accusation of Maliki of sectarianism”. In the security issues category, Al Jazeera focused on “condemning the actions of the organization of Islamic state in Iraq and the Levant”, while Al Arabiya focused on the theme of “the accusation of Maliki of the fall of Nineveh province”.
