This research uses several methods including critical discourse analysis, unified intra-lingual method, and unified extra-lingual method. These method are used to analyze the structure of news discourse. The analysis of the structure of news discourse enables us to understand the tendency and ideology media coverage. This research concludes that Al Jazeera Arabic and CNN Arabic, while reporting the news of “ISIS”, they do not support the organization or its acts of violence. Al Jazeera Arabic tends to report the news neutrally, but CNN Arabic tends to report ISIS and their violent activity in a negative way. Both media outlets put ISIS in a marginal position and they describe it as radical group who often execute people and degrade women. However, there is nuance of anti-American feeling in the news discourse of Al Jazeera, while the tendency of CNN Arabic seems to be influenced by western ideology and based on economic and political interest.
