The study examines the issues addressed in a selected sample of Al Jazeera’s news bulletins to identify their relationship with the agenda of a sampled group of elites. The study tries to find out if there is correlation between the ranking of political issues, in both frequency and time, and the setting of such issues among the sampled elites. In this descriptive analytical study, the researcher used the survey tool and conducted two studies based on the agenda setting theory. The first analyzed a sample of 30 news bulletins during the month of April 2017. The second was a field study on a sample of 135 elite members of university professors in media, politics and other related fields. The findings showed that the Syrian issues came first followed by the Iraqi and Yemeni issues. Regarding the elites’ agenda, the Syrian issues came first, followed by Iraq and Palestine, which means that Al Jazeera does contribute to setting the agenda for Arab elites.
