It seeks to know if Al Jazeera and Arabiya have been used by their sponsoring countries to serve their agendas and communicate their political messages. The study focuses on these two channels to find out if their journalistic practices conform or contradict the professional standards they claim to adhere to, including editorial independence. The researcher employed content analysis and comparative methodology to analyze a sample of news items produced by Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya on different issues over different periods. He then compared these materials with the official positions of the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the same issues. The findings confirmed the existence of a direct and strong relationship between Al Jazeera and the policy of Qatar, and between Al Arabiya and the policy of Saudi Arabia. This conclusion confirms the validity of the research hypothesis, with some differences in the degree and form of that influence and the margins of freedom of each channel.
