The study is divided into four chapters, the first of which deals with the methodological framework, while the second reviews the concept of media discourse and its various definitions and different meanings in the Arab and Western cultures. The third chapter discusses the media discourse of Iraqi religious currents towards resisting the American occupation. The fourth chapter focuses on the empirical part of the study, seeking to understand the nature of media discourse of religious currents and reveal its trends, stakes and topics. The researcher employed a descriptive comparative survey method, using the questionnaire tool to collect data from the targeted respondents. He then used the content analysis approach to analyze the sampled materials consisting of news items, reports, and interviews gathered from the websites of the selected media outlets. Al Jazeera and BBC Arabic websites were chosen for their popularity and reputation and because their services are available almost everywhere and they both cover the Iraqi issues including the media discourse of all parties.
