The study used the descriptive approach and the content analysis tool to analyze a selected sample of four episodes of this program. The key findings of the study indicate that the “the Opposite Direction” program provided its viewers with a great deal of information about the Gulf crisis regarding the reasons why it happened, the regional context in which it took place, and the different parties involved in it. The research findings also showed that Al Jazeera satellite channel paid great attention to the Gulf crisis by highlighting its various aspects and providing continuous media coverage through news bulletins and talk shows, on top of which is “the Opposite Direction” program. With regard to the direction of the channel’s coverage, the content analysis of the four episodes of “the Opposite Direction” showed that Al Jazeera was strongly opposed to the blockade imposed on Qatar, and therefore opposed to the Gulf Crisis.
