Thanks to communication technologies, these groups are able to achieve their goals at almost no cost. While the media broadcast news about terrorist acts mainly to inform the public, they also contribute to serving the purpose of such groups. This study tries to identify the role of international news channels in reproducing ideological concepts while covering terror news. The study examines the coverage of CNN, Al Jazeera English and France 24 English for the following incidents: Charlie Hebdo terrorist attack on January 7, 2015 in Paris. The terrorist attacks on Paris Stadium, Bataclan theatre and other parts of the city on November 13, 2015. The attacks on Brussels airport and metro station on March 22, 2016. The attack on Istanbul Atatürk Airport on June 28, 2016, and the Nice attack on July 14, 2016. This news coverage was analyzed using Teun van Dijk’s critical discourse analysis. The findings reveal that despite their different ideological positions, television channels are generally similar in their discourse on terrorism.
