Employing a descriptive comparative approach and a survey to collect data, the study focuses on Al Jazeera‘s “Political Crime” programme as a case study. This particular programme was chosen because it addresses a series of crimes that targeted prominent Arab political figures who had an impact on Arab political life, such as King Abdulla I, Wasfi Al-Tall and others. The study then compares the documentary production between Al Jazeera, Al Arabiya and ONTV channels during the Arab spring revolutions. The documentaries that were compared cover the period from the beginning of January 2011 until the end of 2013. The analyzed sample consists of 60 documentaries. The findings showed that Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya channels relied on self-production of their documentaries, while ONTV relied mostly on co-production. The study also indicated that the three channels rarely depend on external production or independent Arab channels to produce or acquire documentaries. The study also proved that both Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya excelled in the field of documentary production compared to ONTV.
