If so, can this change be related to the theory of mediatization of politics? Data collected from the Al Jazeera website for this study consists of 687 news articles. This sample of articles was analyzed using quantitative methodology and content analysis. The analysis of these materials show similarities and differences in news coverage on Al Jazeera over time. The main research findings indicate that the tone and angles of Al Jazeera’s news articles about the war in Yemen have changed. This change is significant and coincides with the state of Qatar falling out with its former ally Saudi Arabia. The study finds that the negative coverage of the war increased from 4.5% percent in 2015, to 32.6% percent in 2019. In 2015, 43.5% percent of the news articles in Al Jazeera Arabic had a positive angle on the military operations in Yemen. In 2019, only 2.1% percent had a positive angle regarding the Saudi-led coalition`s military activities in Yemen.
