The significance of Al Jazeera comes from the fact that it is trans-local and is the most watched TV network by Arab viewers. The study aims at understanding how Al Jazeera media network respects and adheres to the norms and criteria of journalistic quality and what role the network plays in the process of opinion forming. In this regard, various topics are addressed and discussed in the theoretical part of the study. This includes the definition and criteria of quality, quality journalism, and ethical responsibility of the media. The Arab public and Arab media are also treated in some detail. Based on the data analysis and evaluation, the research findings show that Al Jazeera (Arabic channel) rarely considers the most important journalistic quality criteria in its reporting. Because Al Jazeera is a popular channel that has established itself as an important medium in the Arab media landscape, it wouldn´t be farfetched to assume that the Arab media, in general, seldom consider media quality criteria.
