Chief Yancey has earned a Degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University and is a graduate of the prestigious Carl Holmes Executive Development Institute (EDI). She is very active in the fire service and regularly participates in national conferences and events to expand her knowledge, skills, and networking opportunities. She has a passion for recruiting people to pursue a career in the fire service, as well as guiding current members as they work through the promotion processes. Deputy Chief Khalilah Yancey's drive and passion for public service, along with a strong desire to learn and grow, serves not only the Baltimore City Fire Department and the City as a whole, but also the nation's fire and emergency services community. As people come to know her, they see that she is truly the real deal. Khalilah practices what she preaches, which contributes greatly to her success as a leader, a professional, and a person. In addition to the commitment she demonstrates in her work, Chief Yancey's personality literally "lights up a room" and exudes positivity and inspiration for life!
