NAM Survey: Manufacturers Face Major Headwinds The National Association of Manufacturers released the results of the Manufacturers’ Outlook Survey for the second quarter of 2020 showing that despite a historic drop in optimism, to nearly 34 percent, and challenging business conditions, the vast majority of manufacturers (98.7 percent) have continued or only temporarily halted operations.The survey also shows that manufacturers are innovating to find solutions to keep businesses running and to protect workers and communities, with almost 22 percent retooling to produce personal protective equipment, 67 percent reengineering processes to reflect COVID-19 safety protocols and 12 percent completely reevaluating the mission of the firm.

The TAPPI Women in Industry (WIN) Division will host the 3rdAnnualWomen’s Summit, held for the first time exclusively through a virtual setting on Tuesday, June 30 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. It is a free event, but registration is required. TheWomen’s Summit will feature a Keynote presenta- tion titled Keys to Effective Self-awareness for Women During a Crisis, followed by two breakout sessions (ti- tles to be announced) designed to start conversations and express ideas among an inclusive audience. Regis- trants will receive a curated eBook after the event. TLMI Announces Call For Submissions For Print Awards TLMI has announced a call for submissions for the as- sociation’s annual awards competition.This year marks the association’s 43rd awards competition and every year narrow web converters from across the globe submit hundreds of entries to be considered for the coveted Best in Class and Best in Show honors.
