Dramatic Donegal: Wild Atlantic Way & Mighty Causeway Coast Our scenic tour takes in County Donegal’s most northernly beautiful, dramatic scenery. We include a day to the spectacular Glenveagh National Park and a scenic drive of Inishowen Peninsula with a visit to the Doagh Famine Village. We also take a journey along Northern Ireland’s breathtaking Causeway Coast with a visit to the stunning Oakfield Park estate and heritage railway. PACKAGED ITINERARY Day 1 Arrival We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner. Day 2 Inishowen Peninsula Scenic Drive & Doagh Famine Village Today is all about scenery, as we take a scenic drive around the Inishowen Peninsula. Dubbed ‘Inishowen 100’ it marks the start of the mighty Wild Atlantic Way and is Ireland’s largest peninsula, flanked by Lough Foyle on the east and Lough Swilly on the west. We take in the spectacular views as we pass magnificent beaches, charming Irish villages and enjoy a stop at the most northernly point, Malin Head. In the afternoon we visit the Doagh Famine Village for a guided tour during which we hear the story of Irish life from the Great Famine of the 1840’s through until the present day. ®

Day 3 Glenveagh National Park Today, we make our way to the spectacular Glenveagh National Park. We visit the award-winning Visitor Centre and marvel at the beautiful Glenveagh Castle , which we get up close and personal with on our guided tour. Positioned beautifully on the edge of Lough Veagh, we can also explore the castle’s charming courtyards, Walled Garden, Pleasure Grounds and Woodland Gardens. We make an early afternoon return to our hotel, giving us plenty of time to make the most of our wonderful base which offers relaxation and the chance to soak up the fabulous surroundings. For those who have the legs for it, a walk to the spectacular beach nearby is well worth the effort. Day 4 Scenic Causeway Coastal Drive, Portrush & Oakfield Park More spectacular scenery beckons today as we take a scenic drive along the mighty Causeway Coastal Route, admiring the seemingly endless dramatic cliffs and wild North Atlantic Ocean as we go. We make a pitstop in the beautiful seaside resort town of Portrush then continue our picturesque travels to Oakfield Park in Raphoe. Upon arrival we enjoy a soup and sandwich lunch before time to explore this privately owned estate and railway, considered a secret jewel in the heart of Donegal. The lush grounds are home to parklands, lakes, mature woodlands, a hedge maze, sculptures and miles of walking paths. During our visit we board a train and sit back and relax as the 4.5km of narrow-gauge railway weaves us through the trees, around the lake, and passed the Castle Folly, the Tree Circle with the Orb and the impressive Longsleeper wooden sculpture, before returning to the station. Day 5 Departure After breakfast, we make our way home.
