Izaak Ortiz earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in Marketing while maintaining an active presence on campus through intramural sports, including volleyball, basketball, flag football and indoor soccer. He also served on the board of American Indians Reaching for Opportunity (AIRO), helping coordinate vendors for the AIRO Powwow, a program that was later recognized as UWSP’s Program of the Year. Throughout his professional development, Izaak has pursued a variety of certifications and credentials, including passing the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 6, and Series 63 examinations, completing Sandler Sales Systems training, and earning his Certified Personal Trainer credential through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Izaak began his career in finance as an intern before advancing to a financial advisor role with Northwestern Mutual. Driven by a passion for improving lives and strengthening communities, he transitioned into the health and wellness sector, serving as a club manager at Anytime Fitness and currently as director of Healthy Living & Sports at the South Wood County YMCA. In these roles, he has worked with hundreds of individuals and families to promote health, wellness and personal growth. Community service remains central to Izaak’s mission. He volunteers annually to distribute Thanksgiving meals, presents on financial literacy, and serves as a referee, coach and advocate for youth development. As an active member of the Sports Commission of Wisconsin Rapids, he is dedicated to fostering community engagement through sports and recreation. Through the MBA program, Izaak hopes to strengthen his leadership and organizational skills, collaborate with like-minded professionals and gain insights from industry experts. His long-term goal is to advance into executive leadership while ultimately building enterprises that create jobs, support communities and drive lasting economic and social impact.
