5. National presentations, peer-reviewed publications and other scholarly products of educational research. 6. Leadership role in a curriculum committee or other education-relatedcommittees. 7. Leadership role in the development of educational policy at the local or national level. 8. Well-organized role model and mentor for students, trainees and junior faculty. Where appropriate, candidates for promotion to Professor will have made outstanding contributions to clinical service, as evidenced by regional and national recognition by peers and patients, a wide local or regional referral base for sub-specialists and leadership role in a clinical department or hospital/health care system. Senior clinicians should be capable of managing all patients with disorders related to their specialties. In addition, it is expected that faculty at this level will participate in scholarly activities at an advanced level, as evidenced by publication of original educational, clinical or basic investigations, reviews, chapters or books; by membership on editorial boards, or editorship of textbooks or journals. REAPPOINTMENT Reappointment in the Educator Track is dependent upon satisfactory performance in fulfilling the criteria described above and availability of funds sufficient to support the position. Where applicable, individuals must have maintained relevant professional licensure and hospital staff privileges. PROMOTION Promotion to a higher academic rank requires fulfillment of criteria for that rank, the demonstration of continuing professional development in all areas, and availability of funds sufficient to support the position. Time at rank is not a criterion for advancement.
