Cougars lost !rst game of the season !e VankleekHill Cougars beat theMorris- burg Lions on Saturday, October 24, but lost their "rst game of the season to the Rockland Nationals on Sunday.

great in this game, making it a 4-1 win. On Sunday, the Cougars showed up in Rockland with the hopes of remaining unde- feated. Again, Villeneuve was strong in nets but couldn’t do everything. Rockland scored once in the "rst and once in the second to take a 2-0 lead into the third period. !e Cougars seemed to wake up in the last period but it’s Rockland that scored "rst to extend the lead to 3-0. With less than "veminutes to go, Van- kleek Hill totally dominated the play and were able to reduce the score to 3-2 with a couple of goals by Dopelhamer. Vankleek Hill pulled their goalie and directed numerous shots on the Rockland net minder but it wasn’t meant to be. Rockland held on for the 3-2 win han- ding Vankleek Hill their "rst loss of the season. !e Cougars are back in Vankleek Hill on Saturday, October 31 st .!ey will face division rivals North Dundas Rockets before travelling in La Peche Sunday for a tilt against the Aca- demie Jr. Outaouais.

On Saturday, the Morrisburg Lions were in town to face the undefeated Vankleek Hill Cougars.!e Lions were also looking for their "rst win of the season. !ings didn’t start o# so well for them when at 19:21 of the "rst period, Frederic Leger jumped on a rebound to make it 1-0 Cougars. Morrisburg adjusted quickly and gave Vankleek Hill all they could handle for the remainder of the period but Cougars’ goalie Justin Villeneuve stood up to their numerous advances. Midway into the second period, the Cougars opened things up and, in the span of three minutes, scored three unanswered goals by Tyler Dopelha- mer, Josh Desousa and Lee Seguin to take a commanding 4-0 lead. !e third period was uneventful and with "ve minutes left, the Lions scored one on the power play to take the shutout away from Villeneuve who was
