CRYSTAL PALACE MUSEUM
SOUTHWARK CATHERDRAL BRITISH MUSEUM
Q The Year 3 boys have experienced many excellent trips this year, including visits to Crystal Palace Mueum, The British Museum, Southwark Cathedral and Bay Pond. Their day at the British Museum was of particular interest and it really enhanced their History learning on Stone Age to Iron Age Britain. The vast majority of major archaeological finds from this period are exhibited in the British Museum so it was the perfect place to visit. From golden ceremonial shields, to an ornately decorated Celtic mirror, and of course the infamous ‘body in the bog’, Lindow Man, the boys were captivated by what they saw. The afternoon was spent exploring the Ancient Egyptian galleries as the Year 3s had undertaken a project on Tutankhamun in class and were keen to find out more. There was also just enough time to pop into the Parthenon galleries to witness the Elgin marbles before heading back to the College.
