Don’t Think You’re Stretching Enough? Consider Your Joint Mobility Instead

At Stretch Physical Therapy and Total Wellness, our experts are the only local specialists trained in diagnosing and treating the limited mobility in your joints. Patients who seek pain relief with this method will first undergo a consultation with our experts. In this mobility exam, we rate each joint as a pass or fail based on its ability to do what it’s supposed to do. Once we have these rankings, we can develop a treatment plan to get your joints back to performing optimally. These treatments can include strengthening exercises and manual therapy, each designed to target your joints’ specific needs. Besides relieving pain, there are serious benefits to improving the mobility in your joints. The largest of these is that you can prevent further injury and pain, avoiding the need for surgery. Once your joints loosen up and you can move freely, your risk of strains, sprains, and serious injuries decreases. Don’t live with joint pain any longer. Learn how the experts at Stretch Physical Therapy can help you feel younger and healthier with our mobility exams and treatments. When you wake up with an aching shoulder, tight neck, or throbbing back, it can be difficult to not curse your aging body and blame yourself for not

stretching enough. But the source of your pain may not actually be found in your muscles. Instead, look to the joints that are being pulled by the muscles.

More specifically, consider the mobility of your joints.

All joints in your body are designed to move a certain way, and their functions are meant to help you do everyday tasks, like

walking or brushing your hair. But as you age, your body begins to naturally degenerate, and these joints tighten up. The real reason those muscles feel so tight is because your joints are actually too tight and are limiting your mobility. It’s a common side effect of aging, but it’s also completely treatable.
