Business Challenges • Several sales contracts, pricing conditions, and scheduling agreements had to be set up and maintained in SAP ECC for each digital product. All follow-on processes had to be triggered manually -from contract generation to billing to tenant creation. Initially, this even entailed the physical shipment of printed license certificates from the warehouse. • Manual workarounds were also required every time a subscription changed. Product managers responsible for the digital portfolio had to consider process-related restrictions before deciding what business model to adopt, lengthening the go-to-market phase and limiting business opportunities. Customer Benefits • No manual intervention is needed once a contract is digitally signed with billing and follow-up processes triggered automatically. Customers can upgrade or downgrade their subscriptions through a self-service portal.
