COMBAT BOOTS: Even before scoring an impressive seventh- round TKO over the previously unbeaten Xander Zayas in June, Jaron “Boots” Ennis was widely viewed as one of the best boxers in the world. Three knockdowns and a dominant performance over the Puerto Rican star to claim the unified junior middleweight crown rubber-stamped that opinion for fight fans around the world. Ennis jumped to No. 1 at 154 pounds and debuted in The Ring’s mythical pound-for-pound ratings at No. 9. The sky is the limit for the Philly switch-hitter, who improved to 36-0 and became a two-weight world champion.
