Community Happenings Autumn

Friendly competition Our six-month snooker competition reached its grand final, with points accrued across four categories and the judging criteria kept firmly under wraps. The announcement of the winners brought considerable amusement, and a new challenge against a neighbouring community is already brewing.

Our casino fun day brought the tables to life with a spinning roulette wheel and themed activities. Leo hit the biggest win of the day, though just like in a real casino, the banker had the last laugh and his play money didn’t make it home. There were plenty of winning moments and even more laughter. Our state against state football challenge proved a nail-biter, with New South Wales claiming victory over Queensland by just one point, 34 to 33. Jaime from catering created an exceptional football-themed cake, while Kerrie and Crystal manned the BBQ. Bocce on the lawn rounded out a competitive quarter. From our kitchen Good food was never far away this season. Our buffet breakfasts continued to be a favourite, with the kitchen team outdoing themselves each time. The air fryer earned its keep, producing warm scones one week and pizzas the next, with residents joining in the cooking. Between the jelly cheesecake, birthday cakes and football cake, there was always something worth saving room for.
