Community Service

Pupils’ involvement in Community Service has a considerable profile within Dulwich College and is recognised in the award of community service ties and in the award of College Colours as a requirement of the Dulwich Diploma conferred to pupils in Year 13.

Around 145 students participate in 12 different projects and some 20 staff are involved in supporting student involvement.

Community projects in 2016: Brixton and West Norwood Foodbank; Dulwich Hamlet Junior School – Mathematics and Literacy Club; Dulwich Wood Primary School – reading mentors; The Hollington Youth Club in Camberwell – Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme; Southside Young Leaders’ Academy – Saturday morning sports and educational activities sessions; Streatham Wells Primary School – afterschool club with crafts, homework help and sports; Rosendale Beavers and Scouts;

Turney School – classroom assistants for children with SEN;

National Citizen Service’s Summer Challenge programme with Aspire

Wellbeing in West Dulwich, a not-for-profit day care centre for adults with physical and sensory disabilities – completed by 18 Year 11 students;
