A. A rejoice with you in that even though you have experienced tragedy in your home, God has saved you and your husband and has given you this precious child. We should always keep in mind that in the long run — over the years, God has a purpose for our lives if we will only trust Him and honor Him. Certainly God loves His own and He does not “willingly af flict the children of men.” VIET NAM Q. Very soon my fiance wiU be shipped to Viet Nam, and I am won dering if you could give me some suggestions as to how I might be of the most help to him while he is gone. We are both born-again Christians and feel this is already a big asset. A. I appreciate your writing to me about the matter of your fiance and his soon going to Viet Nam. You are certainly right in your statement that as Christians you have this great factor in your favor. Now, what you do for him while he is over there? 1. You can pray for him. In answer to prayer, God does mighty things. 2. You can write regularly, and I suggest that you make these happy encouraging letters. Don’t tell him of your fears for his safety. (He has enough of his own!)- Keep him abreast of which is happening in the areas of his and your particular in terests. 3. Share Bible truths with him. When a particular verse blesses your own soul, jot it down and include it in your next letter. 4. Send Christian literature that will feed and enrich his soul and which he can in turn share with his buddies. Our Bookl et #42 “ Viet Nam,” for example is being greatly used by the Lord these days. This 12-page booklet answers, in simple, readable language the questions on every serviceman’s heart. This book let is available to all who will ask for it. Just write me. Clyde M. A POSTSCRIPT TO OUR PRAYERS

Q. First let me say a word of sin cere appreciation for your magazine articles and your daily radio pro gram. They have been a source of great blessings to me. Several years ago we lost our old est child in a tragic accident. Since that time we have wanted more chil dren but have been unsuccessful. Two years ago I personally received Christ, and more recently my hus band also came to know Him, and we were both baptized and joined a fine church in our town. Just a few months ago, our hearts’ desires were truly answered. A fter a year and a half of waiting, we received a beautiful baby from our local adop tion agency. I have read your booklet on adop tion, and would like to add a few more suggestions. First of all, we purchased a memory record book for Janet entitled “AU About You” by Marion A. MacLeod, who is herself an adoptive parent. The book pre sents to the adopted child the fact that he was desired above aU things and holds a very special place in the family. It is a helpful book and 1 recommend it. Also, even though Janet is only 8 months old, I tell her about how we wanted her so much and finally how she came to us and how we aU love her. Of course, she cannot understand the words, but her delighted gurgles and smiles in dicate that she feels the love in the story. By the time she can under stand, it wiU be an old and cherished story to her. I cannot express our intense grati tude to God for answering our prayers in such a wonderful way and for waiting to answer them until we were both saved, baptized, and mem bers of a Gospel church. It is so much better this way, and the Lord in His wisdom knew this. I do hope you can use my experi ences in adoption to help someone else. Our baby is the loveliest thing we’ve ever seen, and her beauty is like an extra bonus — like the kiss of a loving Lord, a postscript to His answer to our prayers!
