on the construction scene in East
HawkesburyTownship,whereeveryyear
about a dozen new homes are built.
Last year, the municipality issued 76
permits for work with a total estimated
value of $6,680,000, relates chief
administrative officer Linda Rozon. That
total included permits for 12 new homes.
In 2009, the township issued 72 permits

79 permits for construction valued at
$6,792,500. There were 10 new houses built
in East Hawkesbury in 2009, compared to

Beau’s All Natural Brewing Co. in
Vankleek Hill “will celebrate the arrival
of spring early this year” with the release
of Beaver River.
The “strong, hoppy beer” arrives early
to coincide with the launch of Beau’s
seasonal beers into the LCBO. For the first
time, customers at select LCBO stores in
EasternOntario,Kingston,andTorontowill
soon be seeing Beaver River on the shelves
next to Beau’s popular flagship brand,
Lugtread Lagered Ale.

“Our seasonal program has been
designed so that all year we have a second,
complementary beer to offer alongside
Lugtread,” says Beau’s co-founder, Steve
Beauchesne. “The seasonals change up
every three months, and have been paired
to suit the season. We’re very excited to be
able to starting getting these beers out to a
wider audience starting this spring,” he
adds.
“Beaver River is an India Pale Ale (IPA),
an assertive style that features citrusy and
piney-earthy hoppiness complemented by
bready malts, fruity esters, and caramel
notes. This particular IPAblends European
and North American interpretations of the
style for a taste that is quite unique,” says
the brewery.
Saturday, March 5, Beau’s will be
celebrating the return of Beaver River with
an open house afternoon at the brewery.
