a. successful completion of the GWO IQTX as gap training for experienced instructors

b.

successful completion of the GWO IQT

c. successful completion of a formal instructor qualification programme that meets or exceeds the learning outcomes of the IQT

For the instructor candidate using the criteria defined in 8.1.1 c to be eligible for module specific qualification a gap analysis must be performed against the learning objectives and outcomes as outlined in the IQT. The gap analysis must show that the formal instructor qualification programme completed by instructor candidate meets or exceeds the IQT. The gap analysis must be conducted using the Instructor Gap Analysis Template available on GWO’s Website

8.1.2 MODULE SPECIFIC QUALIFICATION

The Module Specific Qualification Plan must address individual instructor needs, experience, competencies, and risks specific to the module, training provider, equipment, and setting(s). The plan shall prepare the instructor candidate to independently deliver the specific module in accordance with the criteria listed in 8.1.3

8.1.3 ASSESSMENT

The instructor qualification process must achieve confirmation that all instructors are able to independently deliver the full training module, this must be documented using the Instructor Qualification Assessment Form found in Annex 5. The instructor qualification process must, as a minimum, demonstrate:

a.

valid first aid qualification

b. knowledge of the industry work conditions, tasks and key safety aspects, especially as relevant for the target module

c. documented expertise within the domain relevant to the target module (formal qualifications, experience, etc)

d. familiarity of the working conditions and layout of the work environment relevant to target module

e. the ability to plan and deliver training in accordance with the module by adhering to the following requirements in the standard or module, such as:

e.i training environment

e.ii training setting(s) (see above in 7.2)

e.iii correct use of PPE

e.iv safety during practical exercises

e.v covering all learning objectives at the correct taxonomic level
