Spuds! Community help

PEELER POWER Joshua in 5F has been volunteering for Bearwood Action for Refugees’ Community Lunch, making lots of lovely apple crumbles and being a champion potato-peeler! As well as lunch prepared by volunteers, a number of local organisations volunteer their services to run workshops such as music, drama, storytelling, yoga, play and crafts for our guests. If you're part of a local organisation who might want to run a workshop, please contact bearwoodactionforrefugees@gmail.com

Thanks to Joshua’s mum for the story COMEBACK KIDS

Abbey Junior football team have started their football season with two away games against Holy Trinity and Lightwoods Primary. Their fi rst game together saw them trail 3-0 in the fi rst half to Holy Trinity. A slow start but the boys were not giving up. The second half saw the team galvanise and romp to a 5-3 victory! Away at Lightwoods again saw the home team get into an early lead, leaving Abbey 2-0 down at half time. Once again the team fought hard and played some exciting football. They scored early in the second half to start yet another comeback and Captain Tayler Robinson scored a fantastic last minute equaliser to ensure Abbey remain unbeaten! Final score 2-2. Well done boys!
