er, are all known to Him. He not only sees our ways but He sees our very hearts. He knows the thoughts of our minds. He knows our attitudes and our motives. There is no dark ness in Him at all. There is nothing hid from His eyes.” We may think, because we see so much sin around us, that God does not really rule on the earth, but He does. God is light. Darkness may be all around Him but it is not in Him. There is not a shade of sin in God. Sin and darkness cannot co-exist in Him. There can be no mixture of good and evil in Him. There can be no ignorance or deceit with Him for He is God, and He is light. Since there is no union between light and darkness, there remains a separation between us and God as long as we walk in darkness. There is no ground for fellowship under such conditions. “The light shineth in darkness; and the darkness com prehended it not.” In the struggle between light and darkness, light was victorious — that is, Christ was victorious. God is omniscient. He is all-wise. There is no ignorance with Him. The psalmist declared: “0 Lord, thou hast searched me and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, t h o u understandest my thoughts afar off” (Psa. 139:1, 2). This is encouragement for the per sons walking in the light, but to those who are not the next verses may give cause for apprehension: “Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, 0 Lord, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast be set me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.” The psalmist also realized that he could hide nothing from God for he continues: “If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea,

the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.” God revealed Himself as light through His Son. Christ was the light who shined in the darkness. He revealed the absolute holiness and purity of God. He also revealed the love of God for us. He also showed us what sin was and the awfulness of its consequences and declared that no man can stand in God’s presence who has ignored the sin question and the Son question. * * * It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air. * * * PRESS THE QUESTION H en ry F ord once bought an in sur ance policy so large th a t i t made head lines in the D e tro it n ew spapers.
