Board of Trustees meeting Agenda | October 2019

workflow to ensure timely execution and minimal setup changes and customizations. The project has a budget of $300,000 and will go live on 2/01/2020. Supplemental Requests CWU’s 2019 supplemental capital budget request requests funding to enhance Ellensburg campus safety, preserve existing facilities, and improve aging infrastructure. The supplemental request was developed from review of our current 2019-2021 Capital Budget Requests, knowing the direction from the Office of Financial Management is to "prioritize our highest priority capital budgets projects needed in addition to the enacted reappropriation-only capital budget." Supplemental budget priorities include improving campus facility security, installing a new “chiller,” and replacing a boiler. These supplemental projects are critical to the on-going success of CWU and support our efforts to provide a safe campus environment with a clear focus on energy efficiency and stewardship of existing infrastructure. CWU requested funding for the following infrastructure: 1. Campus Security Enhancements ($3,302,645) – Fill mission-critical and life-safety gaps in emergency response and preparedness infrastructure in response to a ghost shooter event in winter 2019. 2. Chiller Addition ($2,904,824) – Installation of a new chiller to accommodate the chilled-air demand associated with recently constructed facilities Science II, Samuelson Hall, and expected future capital construction projects Health Sciences and Health Education. 3. Boiler Replacement ($4,655,610) – Increase the energy efficiency and life-safety conditions of the Ellensburg campus by replacing an aged primary boiler with a new energy-efficient boiler.
