THE KING’S BUSINESS

there each evening, and a Bible class each Lord’s Day morning. One, who for over, three years has been away from God in “the far country,” came back to the Mission the other night and said that he was tired'fighting against God. When this man is fully restored to fellow ship, he will doubtless be a great power among the Mexican people. He is a well educated man and a fluent speaker. Pray for him. The work among the street boys is grow ing: and we can see some fruit from this work. We would ask special prayer for us as we gather the boys together each Lord’s day from 12 to 1 p. m. We hope that this TYHE past month has brought with it many opportunities of sowing the seed for the reaping by ahd by, and as the battle grows hotter and the time shorter the adversary contends for every inch of the ground. To one min who toils and slaves all day and late into the night in hard, uncongenial surroundings, all seven days taken up with securing “the bread that perisheth,” God has been speaking in deep waters of affliction. We have had this dear fellow upon our hearts for some time for a definite sepa ration to Christian service. He came to us recently desiring a heart to heart talk upon a definite, important, step in his life. Please remember him that the way may be made clear step by step to the accomplishment of God’s will. May no unnecessary delay oc cur for we are being constantly confronted with the truth of Proverb's 29:1: “He that being Often reproved, hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed and that with out remedy.” Two of our men during the past month have been quite suddenly called; both re peatedly heard' the message, but no assur ance has reached us that either definitely closed in with Christ as Saviour. All we

will also be an open door into at least some of the so-called “homes” of these boys. Weekly visits for the preaching of the Gospel and personal work have been begun in a nearby town where forty or more Mexicans are working in a foundry. The ex penses to and from the place are borne by the men themselves. We plead for your prayers for this work among the multitudes of Mexicans in and around Los_ Angeles. Contributions may be sent to the Bible Institute of Los Angeles by any one who would like to help evan gelize these benighted ones. M?e need your co-operation. can do is to hope that the Spirit of God flashed home to their hearts the message, “to as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become-the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.” God' grant that the trumpet may give forth no uncertain sound in these perilous times, else how shall they prepare for the battle? / The absolute ignorance of God’s way of salvation is appalling. One of our car barns, .in particular, has always proved a hard field. The ground is roeky. It would be difficult to discover a more stoical, indifferent crowd of men, and just to stand and witness for our Lord Jesus in a place of such ap parently absolute rejection, demands the. “much more” grace which He never fails to give. You can, then, picture ou'y sur prise when the invitation came to call at the home of one man, who turned out to be one of the little orphan lads from the home ol George Mueller, in Bristol, England Many years ago the seed had been sown, but the cares and pleasures of the world had choked the Word, and he had become unprofitable. In fact, the adversary had made him believe that his case was hope less, and in his ignorance, had led him to apply a passage in Isaiah relating to Israel
