Law No. 28 of 2005 Amending Certain Provisions of Law No. 1 of 1996 on the Establishment of the Al Jazeera Satellite Channel
We Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, With due consideration to the Constitution; Law No. 1 of 1996 to establish Al Jazeera Satellite Channel, as amended by Law No. 21 of 2001; The draft law submitted by the Council of Ministers; And having consulted the Shura Council; hereby promulgate the following law: Article 1: The name “Al-Jazeera Satellite Network” shall replace the name “Al Jazeera Satellite Channel” in the title and provisions of the law referred to as Law No. 1 of 1996 and wherever the latter mentioned in any other legislation. Article 2: All competent authorities, each within its jurisdiction, shall exe- cute this Law, which shall come into force upon being published in the Official Gazette.
