2018 Q4

And the classes were also noteworthy. Though my choice of 3 calculation classes plus pivot tables all in one day was a bit OTT it was an awesome crash course in Division Order mechanics. Between classes there were carb rich snacks, including the long forgotten Moon Pie, and that first class day ended with liquid refreshment. The speakers were very informative, even entertaining! Overall the classes went fairly smoothly aside from a few technical glitches that were quickly forgiven with some extra special prizes! The second day of classes were topped off with a real treat…a trip to Ole Red’s, and more local libations! Some of us got the impression that the Committee might have met a certain Country Western Legend, a few of us had one eye on the band, hoping he might make a surprise appearance! Though I finally concluded that The Voice will have to do for a Blake Shelton sighting for the majority! DENVER ASSOCIATION OF DIVISION ORDER ANALYSTS (DADOA) Association based in the Denver, CO Area After attending several NADOA Institutes, I was blown away by the 2018 Institute in Nashville, TN! Not only was the location a lot of fun, but the education and networking were by far some of the best attributes. With such a great group of individuals from across the country, you were truly able to engage with a variety of different people. The classes on Escheat and Unclaimed Property were some of my favorites. I feel as though you can never know or learn too much about these two very cumbersome topics. The event on Thursday Night at Ole Red was a blast as well. The event was very enjoyable and well organized. I hope you all join us in 2019 for another amazing Institute in Ft. Worth, TX! ~ Lauren Roswold For more information regarding DADOA, please visit our website at www.dadoa.org. ………………………………… HOUSTON ASSOCIATION OF DIVISION ORDER

Nashville! Last Spring I asked a longtime friend if she would recommend attending NADOA Institute. The reply was an emphatic, “Yes, because it’s fun!” So, on her advice, I saved my pennies and packed my bags. This would be my first experience with Institute. Gaylord Opryland alone was worth the travel! Never had I seen such a lovely hotel conference center with shopping and restaurants under one roof! Nine pristine acres are enclosed in a giant tropical atrium with at least 15 restaurants, 2888 guestrooms, 220 suites and 600,000 square feet in the vast conference center, with facilities modified for our group! A magnificent chandelier in the Magnolia Lobby transported us to another era, boasting 1000 pounds of crystal bling over a double stairway. I was sadly underdressed! You can find more Gaylord “fun facts” at Wifle.org. Quite a venue!

PBADOA has had a very busy 4th quarter. September started with the 2018 NADOA Institute in Nashville. PBADOA’s entire board was able to attend this year. Our lucky scholarship winners included: Theresa Gann, Pat

Cantu, Nicki Scoggins and Shaina Ferrell. The classes were very informative and interesting. The Gaylord Opryland
