2018 Q4

Resort was big and beautiful. Thursday’s social at Ole Red’s was extremely fun. It was a great experience – looking forward to Fort Worth in 2019! Our October Luncheon featured Mr. Dan Breeding, Drilling Manager for Legacy Reserves, who discussed the topic of Horizontal Drilling. We were excited to host our 2nd PBADOA Social on November 8. Wine & Canvas…or margarita if you preferred! We have some very talented artists in our group. The response to our gatherings has been very positive and we look forward to hosting more events in 2019. Our November Luncheon was held on November 15 and Mr. Jonathan Baughman, who is a Partner with McGinnis Lockridge, spoke to our group on COPAS Accounting Procedures – Legal and Practical Considerations. Our December 13 luncheon will be a celebration! We will announce the election results for our 2019 PBADOA Board. We are very proud to start a new tradition this year by honoring two of our outstanding members with awards for Honorary Lifetime Achievement and Member of the Year. Our PBADOA membership will nominate and select the recipients of both awards. 2018 has been a great year and we look forward to new opportunities in 2019! Not only did I get to reconnect with members I had previously worked with, I got to visit with members in the SADOA organization that I normally don’t get to visit with. The Grand Ole Opry Resort was an awesome place to meet and mingle with all of the other members, but the most enjoyable event for me was going to Blake Shelton’s “Ole Red” downtown restaurant and bar. The 3 day classes were good educational experiences. The speakers were impressive and the topics were interesting and filled with information that can be passed along to other co-workers. I want to say “Thank You” again to whomever

drew my name for the scholarship, the experience was a great one that I will never forget. ~ Joey Stubbings SADOA members were thrilled when our own Mary Sons was presented with the 2018 NADOA Lifetime Achievement Award at Institute. She is very deserving of this recognition.

SADOA’s October 10 luncheon meeting featured Kacie Bevers of Steptoe & Johnson presenting “Curative Game Plan: Title Curative Issues and Game- Winning Solutions”.

The SADOA Holiday dinner meeting will be held at the Gilcrease Museum on December 6. We will once again raffle baskets to benefit a local charity “A New Leaf ”, located in Broken Arrow. Please join us for a memorable evening with a few surprises planned.
