Sixth Form MUN

Tadhg, Alec and Olivia in Year 12, and Rebecca and Tristan in Year 9 went to Surrey on Friday to attend an MUN (Model United Nations). A rigorous competition of debating current affairs stretching from the World Health Organization to the Security Council in the United Nations. Spending the night on Friday, accompanied by Mr. O ’ Donell and Mrs. Perry, the students began the event on Saturday from 9am to 6pm. There was a full day of making speeches, drafting resolutions and debating clauses which concluded with Queen ’ s ending the day with a victory. The achievement of ‘ Best Delegate ’ was awarded to Alec for his work in the Crisis Committee and the school could not be more proud and indeed proud of the other pupils who took part. Queen ’ s is looking towards participating in more MUNs in the future and we hope that the success at the Reigate MUN will further encourage more to participate in the upcoming conferences. We wish the students luck in their next competitions.
