Prep School Prep Sports Round - up

Some great sports action has taken place both at home and away in Prep School this week. The varied Autumn weather has not dampened the spirits of the Prep School children . The U11 boys were brought back to earth with a bump after their success last Wednesday, with a hard match against Exeter School on Friday. The following day the U11 girls took part in their first big tournament on our very own astro. They too met some tough opposition with seven schools competing in a very busy but positive tournament, with lots of game play for all. Queen ’ s performed well and learnt a huge amount, securing one win, three draws and two losses. Well done to Kings Hall who were winners on the day, and thank you to all who came and played and supported. Wednesday saw some of the A teams off to Perrott Hill for the boys and Sherborne for the girls. Some great matches for the U11A boys playing in a triangular, with two wins and a draw. The U10 boys found their matches

challenging and lost some of the momentum they had gained in the last couple of weeks. . The girls were in fine form on the bus over to Sherbourne and also gained a good win with some fine goals, one of which was scored from an effective short corner.

Year 2 Materials session at the Rural Life Museum

The museum workshop offered the children a chance to develop their understanding of materials and their uses outside the classroom. They took part in three activities - carrying out a science investigation to test the properties of wool. Going on a material hunt around the museum and using a feely bag to explore a range of materials and their properties. A highlight was seeing all the museum exhibits, and learning how the materials used to make objects has changed over the years. The children had a fantastic day and were a credit to the school.
