Senior School Sports Round - up

It ’ s been another busy week of sport for the Senior squads this week with Saturday hockey and rugby against Plymouth College and West Buckland respectively, a four schools swimming gala, basketball and a county hockey tournament for the U14 girls.

In hockey against Plymouth on Saturday, the 13As continued with their momentum with another outstanding win and goals from India (1) and Eliza (2), most valuable players went to Megan Clark and Emily Neenan. The 13Bs followed suit with

The rugby boys played West Buckland this weekend, with the U13, U14, U15 and 1st XV in the spotlight. Team of the week were the U15s with their third win from three in another great team performance. They ’ re certainly proving to be an exciting team to watch and see develop! The 1st XV continue to be heavily injury hit, but nevertheless those that stepped out onto the field played a brave game and scored two tries. Most valuable players were Spencer and Louis . The U14s continue to show improvements in supporting the ball carrier and competing for the ball on the floor. In a highly competitive game Luke Sherwin and Asa Weston should be applauded for their season debuts. The U13s had a tough outing against a well drilled team, but it allowed them to put into practice much of what they have been learning in their games and squad sessions.

Meanwhile U15As learned a lot from Mila with her relentless hustle, and are inspired to play their A game for the full duration of their next match against Clayesmore. the The 1st team game was a hotly contested match, with the result easily having gone either way. Taking control of much of the pitch and with a significant number of D entries the girls were unlucky to have come second at the final whistle. Edie did a great job as on pitch captain this weekend while Pippa took to the sidelines to provided coaching and team support.
