The Director of Estates & Facilities The Post Job Title: Director of Estates and Facilities Location: Responsible for: The Director of Estates and Facilities is a full member of the University’s Senior Management Team which has the overall strategic and operational responsibility for the development of institution wide strategies and services in support of the University’s goals and objectives. Main Purpose of the Role The Director is responsible for the strategic leadership, direction, development and delivery of a comprehensive range of professional estates and facilities Services to underpin the University’s strategic goals. He/she will ensure that resources are applied efficiently, effectively and sustainably to support the achievement of the University’s aspirations in relation to estates and facilities. The Director is also a member of the Leadership team within the Resources Directorate and actively contributes to the development and delivery of the Directorate service vision and improvement strategies. The Director of Estates and Facilities directly line manages the two Assistant Directors of Estates, Facilities and Operations, the Project Director (Estate Master Plan) and the Assistant to the Director of Estates and Facilities. The post holder is accountable for an income target of £10.7m, an expenditure budget of £18.3m, a capital budget of £5.5m as well as management responsibility for a department comprising 300 staff. In addition, the Director will also be responsible for managing the Estate Master Plan capital investment programme estimated to be £150m over the next 10-15 years. Main Duties • Work in partnership with the Student Body to develop focused, cost effective estates and facilities services. • Deliver the University’s Estate Master Plan development projects on time, and in budget to the required quality standards. • Develop and implement the University’s Estate Framework and Facilities Management strategies in support of the University’s strategic aspirations and goals.
