CCCU - Director of Estates & Facilities

• Provide professional leadership for members of the Estates and Facilities department in the delivery of high quality, student focused and responsive services. • Lead and promote the efficient and sustainable use of the University’s resources including, where appropriate, engagement with external funding bodies and partners. • Develop, manage and implement the University’s student residential accommodation strategy including all new developments, refurbishments and disposals • Contribute to the future strategic development of the University by fully engaging in the work of the University’s Senior Management Team by providing professional input into the development and implementation of strategies, plans and initiatives as appropriate. Other responsibilities: • Lead the progressive enhancement of services through a process of organisational development and consolidation in line with the University’s estate strategy. • Lead the development and co-ordination of the University’s property, estates and facilities services creating environments that are welcoming, secure, supportive and sustainable for students, staff and visitors. • Champion the optimum use of space, facilities, buildings and resources across the University’s campuses, in the context of achieving value for money, good space utilisation (target 40%). • Oversee and direct the department’s income generation activities in order to ensure sustainability and optimum return on investments. • Promote and develop the relationship between Estates and Facilities department and other internal stakeholders to promote an integrated approach to service provision. • Co-ordinate appropriate systems and processes to secure student/staff feedback and ideas relating to the delivery and development of estates and facilities services • Promote the University’s commitment to sustainability in all its forms though the work of the Estates and Facilities department. • Lead cultural and organisational change across the Estates and Facilities department in order to take forward an ethos of continuous improvement underpinned by a commitment to equality and diversity. • Contribute to external/internal quality enhancement reviews and audits.
