Growing the team to meet future needs

Jamie Mckean

This year has seen a growth in the team at BIFA with several new appointments. Most recently BIFA has welcomed Shelby Merchant to the Events team and Jamie Mckean as Management Trainee

and virtual events throughout the year. These include the BIFA Awards, Liverpool & London East Charity Dinners, regional meetings, board meetings, Business Leaders Forums and Young Forwarder Network events. Shelby had a background in retail and has taken to her new role like the proverbial duck-to-water. She commented: “Starting my new role was such a big change and I was really nervous on my first day, but everyone at BIFA welcomed me with open arms and have been very supportive. Hailing from a legal background, Jamie has joined BIFA as Management Trainee and will get involved in all aspects of the association over the coming months. Jamie is an expert in both domestic and international law. He has excellent knowledge on interpreting international treaties, Convention on the Law of Treaties and the European Convention on Human Rights. Jamie is looking forward to utilising the knowledge and skills that he has gained in the legal industry to benefit our Members.
