4 Tips to Keep Your Child Safe PROM SAFETY

the driver is important. If you’re hesitant about letting your child be driven to prom, find another way. If your teen is driving the family car, confirm that they will be the only person driving the vehicle. DRESS SAFETY Make sure your teen is dressed comfortably and appropriately to ensure they have a fun night without any accidents. Encourage them to wear comfortable shoes that they can walk and dance in without pain. High heels are fashionable, but they shouldn’t wear heels so high that they may fall and hurt themselves. Whatever your teen decides to wear should be comfortable and hemmed to the appropriate length based on their height.

Seeing gorgeous dresses, fancy suits, corsages, and boutonnieres pop up in advertisements can only mean one thing: Prom season is here! This time of year, teens are busy choosing the perfect dress or suit to wear, finding a date, making dinner reservations, and preparing for an evening of fun and dance. During this exciting time, give your teens a little encouragement and guidance to ensure they have a safe and memorable evening. CREATE A PLAN Create a plan for prom night, and make sure everyone knows what it is. Your teen should know and communicate with you what time the

dance starts, what time it ends, if they’re going anywhere after, and when they’ll be coming home.

PHONES Make sure your teen’s phone is completely charged in case they need to reach out to you sometime during the night. Encourage your teen to check in once every few hours, and establish an emergency code to use if they find themselves in trouble. DRIVING You and your teen should also have a plan about the modes of transportation, who’s driving, and how many people your teen is going with. Trusting

By keeping these safety measures in mind, your teen will have a wonderful and safe evening!

FULL CIRCLE KATHY’S JOURNEY TO ALTITUDE

Two years ago, Kathy Tanner was on the mend following a broken finger. She and her family had just moved to Idaho, and she needed physical therapy to help her finger fully heal. So, Kathy turned to the clinic just down the street from her new home: Altitude PT. She was new to the community and hadn’t met many people yet, so she was thrilled to find a welcoming, caring, and friendly environment in the staff at our Nampa Southside Clinic. As Kathy puts it, “I met Sean and Dan, and they became my new best friends.”

From her start as a patient two years ago, Kathy has come full circle and is now a team member at Altitude PT. She calls meeting Sean and the team at Altitude “God’s blessing.” She’s seen firsthand the attention and care we give patients. “You don’t realize how much your life will improve until you work with them,” Kathy says. “Being a patient, I felt totally loved. It felt like my PTs looked forward to seeing me, and I looked forward to seeing them. That’s what makes them so unique; they truly care, they truly pay attention, and they truly dialogue with their patients. They’re, hands down, the best.” Now as an employee, Kathy says she continues to see the connections our team cultivates with each patient echoed at all three clinics. “I’ve done a lot of physical therapy in the past, and I’ve never seen connection like they have with their patients; I’ve never seen the one-on-one treatment that these

PTs give patients,” Kathy says. “They’re amazing; each gives the patient their undivided attention.”

Grandma with Landon and Ashton

Now that Kathy has settled into Idaho life, she’s eager to explore the natural beauty all around her. She cherishes visits with her three grandkids, who live with their mom and dad (Kathy’s eldest son) in Arizona. Kathy and her Idaho family members love being outdoors in every capacity, from hiking and camping to gardening. With their pod camper in tow, Kathy, her husband, and her youngest son recently enjoyed a visit to Glacier National Park. As for the future? “Our next adventure is still being planned,” Kathy says enthusiastically.

We are so glad to have Kathy on our team and in Idaho!
