Accessing and Interpreting Heavy Vehicle Event Data Recorders C1022 4 Days | Classroom Seminar OVERVIEW This course highlights the various vehicle systems and triggering events that may provide incident-related, recorded data surrounding a collision event. Sometimes called a “black box”, it is more properly referred to as a Heavy Vehicle Event Data Recorder (HVEDR) as defined by the SAE J2728 HVEDR Recommended Practice. Guided by recognized industry experts, techniques for preserving and interpreting HVEDR data will be explored. This highly interactive workshop includes in-class instruction, demonstrations & practical hands-on experiences for acquiring and analyzing data from commercial vehicles. SAE standards, J2728, J1939 or J1587/J1708, are discussed in the class. Last day ends at approximately 12:30 pm. This course is ACTAR approved COURSE DETAILS Instructor J. Accident Reconstruction, the Autonomous Vehicle and ADAS C1869 1 Day | Classroom Seminar OVERVIEW
• Define performance parameters based on currently available standards and protocols • Formulate a plan to approach accident reconstruction using the new technology
Do you need to know if an ADAS was installed in a vehicle involved in a crash? If so, did it function properly? Did it affect the outcome of the accident? Get a detailed look at the rapidly growing field of self-driving vehicles & driver assistance systems. What is available, how does it work, and what will happen in a crash scenario? How does it affect product liability and accident recon- struction? Some auto manufacturers are equipping the majority of their new vehicles with such technology. A forensic engineer needs to “stay ahead of the curve”. Attend this course to find out how to determine if the systems were installed, enabled, and functioning as designed. Many videos/photos will be shared; examples of systems at work demonstrated to allow attendees to experience the implica- tions of this exciting new field. ACTAR approved course. ISO 26262 Functional Safety – Road Vehicles: Focus on Second Edition Changes WB1803 4 Hours | Web Seminar OVERVIEW ISO 26262: Functional Safety-Road Vehicles Standard applies to activities during the safety life cycle of automotive system development. The hazard/risk assessment process focuses on identifying possible hazards caused by malfunctioning behavior of E/E safety-related systems & mitigating them through safety goals. The design phase includes System, Hardware, & Software development with requirements from the safety goals. ISO 26262 also prescribes the management activities performed during the safety life cycle & supports distributed development. Vocabulary is defined in context of the standard with a list of acronyms. This course provides an overview of the standard, major changes introduced in the 2nd edition, the objective-oriented confirmation measures approach, & references to Cybersecurity at the Concept/System Level development.
