RAILROAD IMPROVEMENTS
“Transit oriented hubs for retail and shopping…” Community members highlighted the importance of TOD to support retail and housing growth. Feedback called for mixed- use centers near transit hubs, more shopping options to reduce cross-town travel, and policies that encourage urban housing to strengthen local economies.
“TOD around the rail stations.” Attendees stressed the need for overpasses and underpasses to reduce delays caused by railroad crossings. Suggestions also included limiting the number of crossings and improving safety measures to prevent backups and accidents.
“Redoing traffic circles so they are safer, more modern roundabouts.” Traffic congestion was a major concern, particularly in fast-growing districts. Proposed solutions included widening roads, adding lanes, installing modern roundabouts, and improving traffic signal timing. These measures aim to ease bottlenecks and improve emergency access.
