PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
DEVELOPMENT
“Creating community connection so people want to live, work and play in Fort Worth” Residents expressed strong opinions about aligning development with infrastructure capacity. Many advocated for pausing new housing projects until roads and transit systems can support growth. Others supported mixed-use development to create vibrant, connected communities.
“Protected bike lanes especially on roads that connect to downtown and other frequently visited areas. Wider sidewalks on busier streets.” Improving pedestrian and cyclist infrastructure was a recurring theme. Residents requested protected bike lanes on busy streets, better sidewalk connectivity, and enhanced safety features such as traffic signalization and crosswalk visibility. These upgrades were seen as essential for creating a safer, more walkable city.
“Connectivity of routes. Going not just downtown but to other areas will not only help accessibility but increase ridership for everyone” Participants consistently emphasized the need for a more connected and reliable transit system. Suggestions included developing light rail, improving bus routes, and expanding on- demand services like Trinity Metro. Many saw these improvements as critical for accessibility, reducing car dependency and increasing ridership across all neighborhoods.
